Volunteer

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team; the more volunteers we have, the wider the range of services we can offer. Working at the Willunga District Community Bus is a fun and rewarding experience and is a great way to meet new friends whilst giving back to the community.

Our volunteers make a real difference in the community, helping residents to live independently and efficiently access food, medical and social activities.

Admin Positions

If you have 3.5hours a week to spare and would like to lend a helping hand, we’d love to hear from you. Our friendly office is located at 18 Lacey Drive, Aldinga Beach SA 5173 and is open from 8.00 am to 11.30 am Monday to Friday.

Volunteers can choose which day or days to work and you don’t need any previous experience as we’ll give you any training and support you need. Duties include answering the phones, returning messages, completing client booking sheets and planning the bus trips.

Drivers

Willunga District Community Bus would love to have more drivers on the team, so it would be great to hear from you if you can offer a helping hand. To volunteer as a driver, you must have a full driver’s license and undergo a police check. All training is provided on the job and you can volunteer as a backup driver or regular driver. All new drivers will be accompanied whilst undergoing training.

Bus drivers are vital to our daily operations and make a real difference in people’s lives. Having great communication skills and good mobility combined with a caring and patient personality is ideal as many of our clients are frail and require assistance getting on and off the bus.

Partner With Us

As a volunteer and not-for-profit organisation, we are always looking for new help and support with funding. Currently, we are supported by The Lions Club and Onkaparinga City Council, but if you or your business would like to help make a difference in the local community, please consider making a small donation, as together, we can do so much more.

Become A Member

The Willunga Community Bus is run by locals, for locals, and we welcome new members. Membership costs just $2 per year and allows you to attend our bi-monthly board meetings to have your say in how the community bus operates. As a paid member, you get full voting rights, so your voice will be counted and we’ll keep you updated with our quarterly newsletter.
